Children’s Art Competition Celebrates World Ozone Day at DoE

Agargaon: A children’s art competition was held this morning at the Department of Environment (DoE) in Agargaon here to mark World Ozone Day 2025. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Biggan Sommoto Kormo, Ozone Rokkhai Bormo” (Science-Based Action, Protecting the Ozone).



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was organized by the DoE and drew participation from around 350 children and adolescents under the age of 16, including children with special needs. The participants were divided into four age-based groups.



The event aimed to raise awareness among the younger generation about the importance of protecting the ozone layer and promoting climate-friendly actions, as stated in a press release issued by the DoE.



Notable attendees at the event included Director General of the DoE Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman, Director of Air Quality Management Md. Ziaul Haque, Director of Administration Md. Abdullah Al Masud, and National Project Director of the ODS Phase-10 Project Md. Mohiuddin Manik.
