Dhaka: A Sub-Inspector (SI) of Shahjahanpur Police Station has returned Tk. 50,410, found in the city, to its original owner.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a DMP media release issued today detailed the actions of SI Ashiqur Rahman, who discovered a bundle of money on the pavement in front of Noor Sanitary shop at Malibagh at around 5:15 pm yesterday.

The release stated that SI Rahman, with the assistance of pedestrians, collected the money, which totaled Tk. 50,410 upon counting. The SI took proactive steps by informing bystanders about the found money and waiting for its rightful owner to come forward.

Subsequently, Kausar Ahmed, a 37-year-old man, arrived at the police station claiming he had lost the money after withdrawing it from a bank on his way to work. Following a cross-examination process, SI Rahman returned the money to Kausar Ahmed, as confirmed by the release.
