Dhaka: A total of 158,831 cases have been resolved across the country using Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) under the National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO). The cases were settled through the ADR system from 2009 to July 2025.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the service initially began at the district level in 2009 and was later expanded to include the Supreme Court and the Dhaka and Chattogram divisional headquarters. The initiative was further extended to all prisons nationwide. ADR is a method of resolving cases outside the court in which both parties benefit.

The NLASO reported that a total of 177,254 cases were submitted for arbitration, with 306,023 beneficiaries resulting from the cases settled through ADR. Additionally, from 2009 to April 2025, a total of 1,261,650 individuals received free legal services across the country.

The National Legal Aid Services Organization has been committed to providing free legal assistance to poor and marginalized individuals across the country. The services are provided under the direct supervision of the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
