Boalkhali: The Railway authorities in Boalkhali, Chattogram, have reclaimed 34 shatak of encroached land through an eviction drive on Wednesday. The operation aimed to free railway land from unauthorized occupation and restore it to its rightful use.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the drive was led by Railway Senior Assistant Secretary Dipankar Tanchangya and conducted by the Railway Eastern Zone Land Estate Department. The operation, which began at 10 am, focused on removing illegal structures stretching from Gomdondi Railway Station to Kanungopara Road in the Buri Pukur Par area.

Tanchangya announced that approximately 15,000 square feet of land, equivalent to 34 shatak, was successfully recovered during the drive. The Railway Ministry had previously issued a public notice in December of the previous year, highlighting the issue of encroached railway land and warning of impending eviction actions.
