Dhaka: Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) Chairman Zakir Ahmed Khan today emphasized the crucial role journalists can play in highlighting climate issues. He urged media professionals to produce more in-depth reports on climate affairs, stressing the potential impact such coverage could have on Bangladesh's position in seeking international compensation for climate-related challenges.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Khan made these remarks during the closing ceremony of a three-day training program for journalists held at the PKSF building in the city. The training was a joint effort by the PKSF and the Economic Relations Division (ERD) aimed at enhancing journalists' understanding and capability to address financial aspects related to climate change.
The training program saw the participation of 60 journalists from the country's leading media outlets. Khan highlighted PKSF's ongoing work with over 20 million low-income families in Bangladesh. He noted the organization's focus on increasing the capacity of people to adapt to environmental changes, underscoring climate change as a critical issue for the nation.
