Govt to Intensify Monitoring on Sudden Processions, Take Stern Action: Press Secretary

Dhaka: The government has instructed relevant authorities to enhance the monitoring of sudden processions and unauthorized meetings, with a directive to take strict legal action against those responsible for such incidents. This directive emerged from a high-level meeting presided over by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna in the city.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting was convened to assess the law and order situation nationwide, as reported by Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy following the meeting. The meeting included participation from a range of advisers, including Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, Planning Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud, and Law Adviser Asif Nazrul, among others. The attendees also included Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, and others from various sectors, reflecting the multi-faceted approach to addressing the issue.



Additionally, National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman, Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant (Home Affairs Ministry) Md Khuda Baksh Chowdhury, and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam were present at the meeting, underscoring the importance of the directive and the breadth of stakeholders involved in ensuring compliance with the new monitoring measures.
