Captains Announced for Second Edition of NCL T20 Tournament

Dhaka: The second edition of the NCL T20 cricket tournament is set to commence on September 14, expanding its reach with matches scheduled at three venues across the country. The new venues, Rajshahi and Bogra, will join Sylhet, which successfully hosted all the matches of the inaugural edition.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tournament will feature teams from seven divisions along with Dhaka Metro, continuing the format of being exclusively for local players. The tournament organizers have confirmed the captains for each team, with Akbar Ali set to lead the defending champions, Rangpur Division. Dhaka Division will be captained by Mahidul Islam Ankon, while Naim Sheikh will take the reins for Dhaka Metro.

This tournament marks the final participation for Dhaka Metro as they will be replaced by Mymensingh Division in the following year. Sylhet has appointed Zakir Hasan as their captain. The other teams include Khulna, led by Mohammad Mithun, Chattogram under the leadership of Yasir Ali Chowdh
ury, and Barishal, captained by Fazle Rabbi.
