Dhaka: Advisor to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, has stated that initiatives are being undertaken to facilitate the return of the Awami League (AL). He remarked that individuals who previously advocated for elections in December are now engaged in schemes to delay the electoral process.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Asif Mahmud made these comments during the orientation program for newly-appointed officers and employees of the Palli Daridro Bimochon Foundation (PDBF) at the Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University auditorium. He highlighted that any potential election could adversely affect those plotting to defer the national polls, suggesting that their interests would be compromised.

Asif Mahmud also discussed the prevalent practice in Bangladesh, where individuals from the ruling party are often appointed to various organizations. He emphasized efforts to ensure transparency in job appointments, aiming to move away from partisan selections.
