Khulna: A joint forces team arrested a former Jubodal leader along with arms and ammunition in Khulna city early today. The arrested individual has been identified as Kamruzzaman Tuku, former president of the 31 no-ward Jubodal of Khulna City Corporation (KCC).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, acting on a tip-off, members of the joint forces conducted an operation at his residence, adjacent to Hazi Malek Graveyard in 31 no-ward, early this morning, confirmed Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Labonchara Police Station, Towhiduzzaman. The joint forces seized one barrel gun, nine rounds of live ammunition, and a sound grenade from his possession.
He fell sick after his arrest and was admitted to a prison cell at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH). The arms and ammunition were handed over to Labonchara Police Station for further action, the OC added.
