Dhaka: The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has issued a warning to the public regarding fraudulent activities involving fake financial incentives. The ministry has emphasized that any claims of financial incentives being offered by them are entirely unfounded and fabricated.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the ministry released a statement today revealing that scammers have been impersonating Abu Taher Md. Masud Rana, the secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. These impostors have been using his name and photograph, along with a mobile phone number, to contact various officials via WhatsApp. The fraudulent scheme involves deceiving officials into providing their credit card and bank account information by falsely promising financial incentives from the ministry’s advisor.
The ministry has advised that individuals should not disclose any sensitive information, such as credit card or bank account details, if approached in this manner. It has also recommended refraining from engaging with any contact from numbers associated with these fraudulent activities. Furthermore, the ministry has urged anyone who receives such a call to remain vigilant and to report the incident to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education or the nearest police station.
