Journalist Sazzadul Islam Sanu Passes Away in Chattogram

Chattogram: Sazzadul Islam Sanu, a staff reporter of local daily Purbatara, died at Chattogram Maa and Shishu Haspatal on Thursday morning. He was 60 years old and had been battling several complicated diseases, including a heart ailment, for the past few days. He passed away at 7:40 a.m., as confirmed by family sources.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sazzadul had left his position at daily Purbatara a few years ago and subsequently worked as a senior executive at a private company in the textile sector. He is survived by his wife, two brothers, and numerous relatives and well-wishers who are left to mourn his passing.



Sazzadul was laid to rest at Miskin Shah graveyard in the city’s College Road area. His funeral prayer, namaj-e-janaza, was held at a local mosque following Maghrib prayer. The Editor of daily Purbatara, Saiful Alam Siddique, expressed his profound sorrow over the death of Sazzadul Islam. He offered prayers for the salvation of the departed soul and extended deep sympathies to the bereaved family.
