Gazaria: Rehana Parveen, Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education, emphasized the indispensable role of training in enhancing the skills of project managers. “The role of a skilled project manager is crucial for implementing government projects,” she stated during the inauguration of a three-day residential training workshop titled ‘Project Processing, Appraisal and Management System (PPS)’ at the Engineering Staff College Bangladesh campus in Gazaria, Munshiganj.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the workshop was organized under the overall management of the Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) Project and supervised by the Secondary and Higher Education Division. A total of 30 project directors and project-related officers from various government entities, including the Secondary and Higher Education Division, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Bangladesh University Grants Commission, Directorate of Educational Engineering, and several government universities, participated in the workshop.
The event was presided over by the Project Director of the HEAT Project, Professor Dr. Asaduzzaman. The Rector of ESCB and former Chief Engineer of the Roads and Highways Department, Md. Ashraful Alam, delivered an address, while Dr. Towhid Hasan, Head of Faculty and Procurement Unit of ESCB, moderated the inaugural ceremony.
Additional contributions to the program were made by the Additional Secretary of the Education Ministry, Syed Mamunul Alam, Joint Secretary Ahmed Shibli, and Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Gazaria, Ashraful Alam, who also spoke at the event.
