Dhaka: A three-day International Short Film Festival (IIUSFF), organised by the Dhaka University Film Society, concluded today. At the closing ceremony, Dhaka University Treasurer Professor Dr M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury addressed the event as the chief guest, a press release said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Norwegian Ambassador to Bangladesh H¥kon Arald Gulbrandsen and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative Stefan Liller were among the notable attendees. The event also saw the presence of Dhaka University Film Society President Roknuzzaman Toha and its General Secretary Apurba Das Shudra.
The festival featured selected films on its first two days, culminating in a discussion session titled "Independent Films and Recent Market Trends," which was held on the second day. Esteemed filmmaker Juboraj Shamim and Producer and Editor Bayezid Khan contributed to the discussion.
On the final day of the festival, 57 short films directed by Bangladeshi filmmakers were showcased. Additionally, the event included displays of film posters and paintings focused on climate awareness. Approximately 1,500 short films from over 70 countries were submitted for the festival.
