3 Deaths and 437 New Dengue Cases Reported in Bangladesh

Dhaka: Health officials today reported 437 new cases of dengue, resulting in at least three fatalities over the past 24 hours. 'During the period, (of the 437) 113 patients were hospitalized in Barisal division, 81 in Chattogram division, 76 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 83 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 53 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 10 in Mymensingh division, 48 in Rajshahi division and two in Sylhet division,' a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, since the start of the dengue outbreak in Bangladesh this year, there have been 125 deaths and 32,501 cases recorded. Last year, dengue claimed 575 lives and infected 101,214 people in the country.
