Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) has announced amendments to its Polling Station Establishment and Management Policy-2025, specifically for the upcoming Jatiya Sangsad elections. The amendments will result in an increase in the number of voters allocated to each polling booth.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the EC has issued an amendment notice, signed by EC Secretariat Deputy Secretary Md. Mahbub Alam Shah. The revised policy stipulates that each male polling booth will now accommodate 600 voters, up from the previous 500, while each female polling booth will cater to 500 voters, increased from 400.

The new guidelines specify that each polling centre will be designated for a total of 3,000 voters. Within this framework, one polling booth will be assigned to 600 male voters and another to 500 female voters, reflecting the changes intended to streamline the voting process for the upcoming elections.
