Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 552 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours. "During the period, (of the 552) 114 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 97 in Chattogram division, 107 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 59 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 94 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 44 in Khulna division, 14 in Mymensingh division, 21 in Rajshahi division and two in Sylhet division," a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh has witnessed 122 deaths while the disease has inflicted 32,028 people this year. In comparison, last year, the dengue outbreak claimed 575 lives and affected 101,214 people in the country.
