Chattogram: Chattogram district police today recovered a single-barrel gun, an LG gun, and five rounds of cartridges from an abandoned spot in the Puichhari area under Banshkhali upazila. Sudhansh Shekhar Halder, OC (Investigation) of Banshkhali Thana, reported that the discovery was made following a tip-off from locals.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, locals noticed a suspicious black polythene bag around 10:30 pm on Saturday, which prompted them to alert the police. Upon receiving the information, law enforcers arrived at the location and subsequently recovered the firearms and ammunition from the bag.
The incident has raised concerns about the security and safety in the area, and authorities are likely to investigate further to determine the origin of the weapons. The recovery underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and order in the region.
