Dhaka: Newly appointed Pakistan High Commissioner in Bangladesh Imran Haider today made a courtesy call on Interim government's Adviser for Religious Affairs A F M Khalid Hossain at his secretariat office here today. During the meeting, Dr AFM Khalid Hossain highlighted the potential for mutual cooperation between Bangladesh and Pakistan, emphasizing their status as the two largest Muslim-majority countries.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the adviser noted that there are significant opportunities for collaboration in the fields of education, trade, information technology, human resource development, and other areas. He emphasized that both countries can work together for the welfare of Muslim nations, promote Islamic religious teachings, and improve the living standards of people in South Asian countries.
Dr Khalid Hossain stressed the importance of advancing these issues on the basis of mutual respect, dignity, and amity. The meeting also explored the potential for sharing educational facilities between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
The adviser extended a warm welcome to the new high commissioner of Pakistan by presenting him with a bouquet and congratulated him on his appointment in Bangladesh. Religious Affairs Secretary AKM Aftab Hossain Pramanik was also present during the meeting.
