Light to Moderate Rain Likely Across Bangladesh, Says BMD

Dhaka: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds across several regions in the country over the next 24 hours, starting from 9:00 am today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BMD bulletin released this morning indicates that the rain or thundershowers are expected at numerous locations within the Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Additionally, a few areas in the Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions may also experience similar weather conditions, with moderately heavy rainfall anticipated in parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions.

The meteorological office also predicts a slight rise in day temperatures, while night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country. The current monsoon is described as fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay.

On Monday, the highest temperature of 35.0 degrees Celsius was recorded in Cox's Bazar and Sitakunda, whereas the lowest temperature was 24.8 degrees Celsius in Bandarban. In Dhaka, the sun is set to set at 6:22 pm today and will rise again at 5:38 am tomorrow.
