Sylhet: The Netherlands have made three changes to their squad for the three-match T20I series in Bangladesh. Uncapped 17-year-old batter Cedric de Lange is among the three replacements named by the Netherlands.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, injuries have forced the visiting side’s hand just days before the first T20I in Sylhet. Cedric de Lange has been rewarded for his consistent performances at the Under-19 level as well as in domestic T20 competitions. “It’s always exciting to bring a youngster into the squad,” Netherlands captain Scott Edwards was quoted by the International Cricket Council (ICC). “Cedric has been impressive all summer and he’s really earned this call-up. We’re looking forward to seeing what he can offer us on this tour and, hopefully, across a long career ahead of him,” he added.

Among other changes to the Netherlands’ 15-member squad, pacer Sebastiaan Braat and all-rounder Sikander Zulfiqar have been included. These adjustments come after Ryan Klein and Fred Klaassen were ruled out of the series due to injuries, while Saqib Zulfiqar withdrew for personal reasons.

The Netherlands will face Bangladesh in three T20I matches starting August 30, which serve as crucial preparation for next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
