ICSB Launches 56th Chartered Secretary Course with Orientation Programme

Dhaka: The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) organised an orientation programme for the students of the 56th batch of the Chartered Secretary (CS) Course on the city’s ICSB premises yesterday. M. Naseemul Hye, president of ICSB, inaugurated the new batch, while Md. Shamibur Rahman, secretary in charge of the Institute, moderated the programme. The event saw a good number of students in attendance.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Abul Fazal Mohamed Rubayat, council member and chairman of the Education Committee of ICSB, delivered the welcome remarks at the session. He praised the course and the class conducting process, elaborating on the prospects of the chartered secretary profession. Rubayat assured students of consistent support throughout their academic journey.

Mohammad Shafiqul Islam Bhuiyan, senior vice-president and chairman of the Examination Committee of ICSB, also addressed the new entrants. He highlighted the significance of the CS profession in both national and
global contexts, emphasizing the need for students to stay updated with the latest information in the business and corporate world.

M. Naseemul Hye encouraged students to pursue academic excellence while upholding personal values and social responsibilities. He described the CS profession as both challenging and rewarding on a global scale, referring to the new students as torch bearers for the profession and potential brand ambassadors for ICSB.

The orientation programme was attended by several notable figures, including Vice-President of ICSB AKM Mushfiqur Rahman, council members Salim Ahmed and Md. Sharif Hasan, and SM Shafaet Hossen, Council Member and Joint Secretary (Drafting), Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division of Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. The event concluded with a question and answer session, followed by remarks from Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, treasurer of ICSB, who emphasized the demanding nature of the Chartered Secretary qualification.
