Media Professionals Have Vital Role in Uplifting Quality of Primary Education: Prof Bidhan

Kishoreganj: Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder has emphasized the crucial role that media professionals play in enhancing the quality of primary education. This assertion was made during a speech he delivered as the chief guest at a discussion with head teachers of government primary schools and officials involved in primary education in Kishoreganj district, aimed at developing strategies to improve primary education quality.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Professor Podder highlighted the importance of media professionals as essential members of the education community. He noted that journalists often help uncover challenges faced by schools, and their objective reporting enables timely and effective responses to address these issues.



Furthermore, Professor Podder stressed the importance of moral education, stating that if students are raised with moral values, they will become good citizens. He pointed out that stories and literature serve as excellent tools for imparting these values. He also emphasized the need for children to be nurtured with a sense of unity, empathy, and discipline, with the school environment playing a critical role as children observe and emulate the ideals of their teachers.



Professor Podder urged teachers to serve as role models for their students and underscored the significance of co-curricular activities alongside textbooks for the holistic development of children. The event also saw the participation of Primary and Mass Education Secretary Abu Taher Md. Masud Rana, Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education Abu Noor Md. Shamsuzzaman, Director Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, and was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kishoreganj Mizabe Rahmat.
