Dhaka: The fire that broke out in the capital’s Mohakhali Sat Tala slum this afternoon was brought under complete control. The blaze, which erupted around 2:37 pm, caused a significant alarm in the densely populated area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Anwarul Islam, the media officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence, stated that five firefighting units rushed to the scene at 3 pm. They managed to bring the fire under complete control within an hour and a half of intense efforts, finally extinguishing it around 4:35 pm.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage remain unknown as of now. However, Islam confirmed that there have been no reports of casualties so far.
