Dhaka: Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam emphasized the need for cooperation, professionalism, and compassion to elevate BMU's outpatient department (OPD) to a model of world-class healthcare.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Alam spoke at a view-sharing session titled 'World-Class Healthcare: Current and Possible' held at the university's A Block Auditorium. During his address, he called upon all medical officers, staff, and employees to play a proactive role in advancing OPD services.
Dr Alam stressed the importance of patient-centred care and urged teamwork across all levels to improve service delivery. The event was attended by key university officials, including Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Treasurer Professor Dr. Nahrin Akhtar, Registrar Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, and Director (Hospital) Brigadier General Abu Noman Mohammad Mosleh Uddin, among others.
Organized by the university administration, the meeting focused on enhancing the quality and accessibility of services in OPD-1 and OPD-2. It engaged medical officers, senior staff nurses, administrative staff, and outsourcing employees in discussions on improving service delivery.
