Six Matches Conclude in National Women’s Handball Tournament

Dhaka: Six second round matches of the Ruchi 36th National Women’s Handball competition took place at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the capital today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Naogaon District Sports Association (DSA) secured a victory over Narail DSA with a score of 29-11, having led the first half by 14-5. Panchagarh DSA triumphed over Jahangirnagar University with a 31-11 score, dominating the first half by 16-7. Jessore DSA outperformed Gopalganj DSA with a 31-9 victory, leading the first half 15-4. Jamalpur DSA overwhelmed Narail DSA by 38-9, with a first-half lead of 19-3. Naogaon DSA also defeated Jahangirnagar University 23-15, controlling the first half at 10-9. Finally, Dhaka DSA crushed Bogra DSA 54-2, leading the first half 24-1.

A total of nine teams, divided into two groups, are participating in the second round. The teams in the second phase include Jamalpur, Naogaon, Jahangirnagar University, Panchagarh, Narail, Jessore, Dhaka, Bogra, and Gopalgan
j DSAs. The top four teams from the first and second rounds will advance to the semi-finals on August 24, with the final scheduled for August 25. Earlier, Bangladesh Ansar and Bangladesh Police achieved semifinal spots as group leaders.
