Dhaka: The Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry has issued a stern warning to travel agencies, cautioning them against unjustified increases in air ticket prices and fraudulent practices. The ministry emphasized that violators would face strict legal consequences.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the ministry’s notification reiterated the effectiveness of previous directives aimed at preventing arbitrary ticket price hikes. It highlighted concerns over numerous travel agencies not adhering to instructions requiring the selling price to be printed on tickets.
The circular mandates that all travel agencies must clearly state the agency’s name, mobile number, and the selling price on each ticket issued. It further warned that any irregularities, such as fare manipulation or fraudulent activities, could result in severe legal actions, including the potential revocation of the agency’s license.
