Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali has asked sub-inspectors (SIs) working in Dhaka Metropolitan Police to perform their duties with professionalism, transparency, and impartiality. “Perform duties with professionalism, transparency, and impartiality,” he said.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, he made the remarks at a briefing held at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh on Wednesday. Addressing the sub-inspectors present, the DMP Commissioner emphasized their role as the backbone of the police force, asserting that the reputation of Bangladesh Police depends on their work. He highlighted the crucial nature of their direct communication with the public and the importance of providing services to them.

Highlighting the importance of investigation, he stated that while investigation is complex, it remains essential. He urged for improvements in the quality of investigations. He also noted the need for effective preventive measures when robberies rise, as such incidents contribute to public insecurity.

The DMP chief instructed SIs to be prepared for the upcoming national elections, emphasizing the need for honesty and impartiality in performing their responsibilities during the elections. Additional Commissioner of Police (Admin) Faruk Ahmed also addressed the gathering.

Of the 2,344 SIs in DMP, 444 attended this second-phase briefing. Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali will provide similar briefings to all sub-inspectors in phases to further improve police service quality for city residents.
