Dhaka: Vice-chancellor (VC) of Dhaka University (DU) Professor Dr Niaz Ahmad has expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of retired Professor Dr M Kismatul Ahsan.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the VC conveyed his condolences in a message, highlighting that the late Prof Dr M Kismatul Ahsan was a talented teacher and researcher who had taken on significant responsibilities in academic and administrative spheres, particularly in education and research.
The VC prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and extended his deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Dr M Kismatul Ahsan’s namaz-e-janaza was held at the Business Studies Faculty premises at 10 am today. Following the prayers, he was laid to rest at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in the city’s Rayer Bazar area. Dr Ahsan, who retired from the Finance Department of Dhaka University, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 65 while receiving treatment at a city hospital.
