Lalpur: Two madrasa students went missing while bathing in the Padma river in Lalpur upazila today. They have been identified as Farid Islam, 14, son of Saiful Islam from Naopara village in the upazila, and Golam Rabbani, 14, son of Robin from Darilla village in Trishal upazila of Mymensingh district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the incident occurred around 12:30 pm when the students were bathing with their peers from Naopara Hafezi Madrasa in Durduria union of the upazila. The local authorities are currently conducting a rescue operation, which is being carried out by police and fire service teams.
Lalpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mominuzzaman confirmed the ongoing efforts to locate the missing students. The community remains on edge as the search continues for the two boys, whose sudden disappearance has sent shockwaves through the local area.
