Natore: Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives and Youth and Sports Ministry Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain has emphasized the Interim Government’s efforts towards ensuring a promising future for the country’s youth. “For this purpose, the Entrepreneurship Development Policy has been formulated alongside updating the Youth Loan Policy,” he stated while addressing a program at the Zila Parishad Auditorium in the district. This event followed the inauguration of 13 mini stadiums, including the Natore Sadar Upazila Mini Stadium, across 10 districts via a virtual platform.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Adviser Asif Mahmud highlighted the historical significance of the youth in the July Mass Uprising, using it as a backdrop for the government’s initiatives to combat unemployment and foster job creation among the younger population. He emphasized that technology-centric and effective training programs have been arranged as part of these initiatives, focusing particularly on world-class artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports is collaborating with the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) and the ICT Ministry to support entrepreneurs in building a robust ecosystem. As part of this effort, a task force committee has been established. Asif Mahmud also mentioned that approximately 150 upazila mini stadiums have been inaugurated nationwide, with further construction planned in stages.
He underscored the importance of the decentralization policy in sports and the need for continuous utilization of the stadiums through various sports activities. He called on all stakeholders, including sports organizations, to actively participate in maintaining these facilities. “It is possible to bring development and success to the country’s sports grounds with the coordinated efforts of everyone,” he asserted.
The newly inaugurated Natore Sadar Upazila mini stadium is equipped with a three-story pavilion building and three general galleries, featuring separate toilets for men and women. The event was chaired by Natore Deputy Commissioner Asma Shaheen and attended by several notable figures, including Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Md Mahbub-Ul-Alam, Secretary of the Local Government Division Md. Rezaul Maksud Jahedi, and Secretary of the National Sports Council Md. Aminul Islam.
