Food-Friendly Programme Dealerships Allotted via Public Lottery in Naogaon

Naogaon: The selection of dealers for the government’s food-friendly programme in Sadar upazila here has been completed through an open lottery process. The lottery was held this afternoon at the Sadar Upazila Parishad Auditorium in the presence of Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and President of the Upazila Food-Friendly Programme Committee, Ibnul Abedin.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was organized by the Sadar upazila food controller’s office. Sadar upazila food controller Golam Maula, along with officials from various departments, attended the function. UNO Ibnul Abedin disclosed that a total of 129 applications were submitted for food-friendly dealership across 29 distribution points in Sadar upazila, with 69 applications deemed valid after scrutiny.



From the pool of valid applications, 29 names were drawn through the public lottery to fill the dealer positions. The newly appointed dealers are expected to begin distributing goods under the food-friendly programme later this month at their designated points.



The UNO further emphasized that the selection process was conducted in full compliance with the directive of the Deputy Commissioner to ensure transparency and prevent any form of controversy regarding dealer recruitment.
