Dhaka: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has arranged a skill camp to prepare players for the upcoming long cricket season.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the typically hectic international schedule often leaves players with little time to focus on honing their technique and other aspects of their game. This year, however, players have been afforded ample time to work on these areas due to the postponement of the home series against India, originally scheduled for August.

India was set to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 Internationals during their tour of Bangladesh, but the series has now been postponed for a year. Seizing this opportunity, the BCB has organized a fitness training and special camp that will continue until the Netherlands series.

The fitness training camp began on Wednesday, with players dedicating the first day exclusively to gym activities. This gym-focused regimen continued today, with a two-day rest scheduled for Friday and Saturday. A fitness test is planned for Sunday at the National Stadium in Gulistan, and the training will persist until August 14. Following the fitness phase, players will work on their skills under the supervision of various coaches.

After completing the Dhaka phase of training, the players will relocate to Sylhet for another camp. Bangladesh is slated to play a three-match T20 International series against the Netherlands in Sylhet. Post Netherlands series, the team will head to the UAE to participate in the Asia Cup.

After the Asia Cup, the Bangladesh team will shift their focus to preparing for the ODI and Test formats. The West Indies cricket team is scheduled to visit Bangladesh in October-November for three ODIs and three T20Is. Bangladesh will conclude the year with two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is against Ireland.
