Dhaka: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is considering Bogra as one of the three venues for the upcoming NCL T20. "We had a long discussion about this. We need two grounds in the same place. After a lot of discussion, it is decided Bogra will be the venue along with Rajshahi and Sylhet," BCB tournament committee chairman Akram Khan stated today. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the NCL T20 was launched for the first time last year, exclusively for local players, and received significant acclaim. The tournament offered a crucial platform for local players eager to gain more experience in T20 matches, allowing them to refine their skills in cricket's shortest format. Last year, the tournament was solely hosted in Sylhet. However, the BCB now plans to extend the tournament across the country. Explaining the choice of Bogra and Rajshahi as venues, Akram mentioned the high demand for BPL matches in these regions. "They have a lot of demands for BPL matches, they always say that," he noted. "We have been t rying to spread cricket all over Bangladesh. Bogra had hosted a lot of matches so far. Then there are a lot of cricket fans in Rajshahi. Good players are also coming from Rajshahi." While the group matches are scheduled to take place during the day, BCB aims to organize the semifinals and final as day-night events. Sylhet, equipped with floodlight facilities, has been selected to host the semifinals and final. "Sylhet will host the semifinals and final, and those matches will be held day-night," Akram confirmed.
