South Korean Firm OCF Co. Ltd. to Invest $8.06 Million in Mongla EPZ

Dhaka: OCF Co. Ltd., a South Korean company, is set to invest $8.06 million in the Mongla Export Processing Zone (EPZ) to establish a manufacturing industry focusing on tents, tent accessories, camping furniture, furniture accessories, and bags. The Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) signed an agreement with the company on August 6, 2025, at the BEPZA Complex in the city.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Md Ashraful Kabir, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Hyun Gil Kim, Chairman of OCF Co. Ltd., signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. The signing ceremony was witnessed by BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman.



The company aims to produce various products including tent and furniture accessories, camping chairs and tables, aluminum and carbon products, ski and trekking poles, mountain and walking sticks, bed cots, stands, pet furniture, arrows, and all types of bags. This venture is expected to create employment opportunities for 820 Bangladeshi nationals.



During the program, the Executive Chairman emphasized BEPZA’s encouragement of investment in producing a range of products. Acknowledging this as OCF Co. Ltd.’s second project with BEPZA, he expressed gratitude for the company’s continued trust and urged them to act as ambassadors to attract more South Korean investment to Bangladesh, particularly in the EPZs. He also assured BEPZA’s commitment to providing a secure and supportive environment for investors.



Hyun Gil Kim expressed appreciation for BEPZA’s support and shared hope that production would commence by the next year. The event was attended by senior BEPZA officials and representatives from the enterprise.
