Chittagong: Describing school education as beneficial at every stage of life in the future, City Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain emphasized that schools impart not only textbook knowledge but also essential life skills such as discipline, punctuality, friendship, and a sense of brotherhood. Dr. Shahadat made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a reception for SSC students at Ankur Society Girls’ High School on the city’s Nasirabad School premises.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Shahadat highlighted the role of honesty and patriotism in building a corruption-free and technologically advanced Bangladesh. He stated, “If honesty and patriotism are installed in you, you will help build a corruption-free and technologically advanced Bangladesh.”
The ceremony honored students who achieved GPA 5 in the 2025 SSC examination. The mayor noted, “Today’s result is not just a number; it reflects your hard work, confidence, and the dedication to your teachers.”
The event was presided over by the school management committee president Shahidul Alam, with acting headmaster Kazi Sultana Yasmin also present. Teacher representative Bilkis Akhter and guardian representative Rashed Kalam were among the speakers who addressed the gathering.
