Anwara: A youth drowned in a pond near Anwara Upazila Health Complex this afternoon. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Yasin, 19, an inhabitant of Ramu Upazila in Cox’s Bazar district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Yasin worked at Mariam Hotel located in front of the Anwara Upazila Health Complex. He went missing while bathing in a pond around 10 am today. Locals reported that after an extensive search, the owner of Mariam Hotel and other locals finally informed the fire service.
Upon receiving the information, the fire service discovered Yasin’s sandals, clothes, and soap at the edge of the pond, prompting them to launch an operation. They successfully recovered his body from the pond around 1 pm.
Anwara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Monir Hossain stated that the body has been sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
