Dhaka: A meeting of National Consensus Commission was held today at its office at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here: The session was presided over by Commission Vice Chairman Professor Ali Riaz, as confirmed by a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting focused on reviewing the issues where consensus was reached in the initial phases of discussions with political parties. It was also resolved that the commission would continue engaging with experts, political parties, and alliances to further develop proposals or recommendations that have garnered agreement.
Ongoing dialogues will be maintained between the commissions, political entities, and the government to explore effective strategies for implementing these agreed-upon proposals or recommendations. Most political parties and alliances have already submitted their feedback on the preliminary draft of the ‘July National Charter 2025.’ The commission has decided to urge those parties that have not yet responded to provide their feedback promptly.
The meeting was attended by commission members Justice Md. Emdadul Haque, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder, Safar Raj Hossain, Dr. Md Ayub Mia, and Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Manir Haidar.
