Information Adviser Mourns Death of Renowned Nuclear Physicist Prof Shamsher Ali

Dhaka: Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Mahfuj Alam today expressed deep shock at the death of Professor M Shamsher Ali, an eminent nuclear physicist, a former professor of Dhaka University, and the founder of Open University. In a condolence message, he prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the information adviser highlighted the significant contributions made by nuclear scientist Prof Shamsher Ali to Bangladesh’s education sector. Mahfuj Alam noted that Prof Shamsher Ali was a versatile talent, and his death is considered an irreparable loss to the country.



Prof Shamsher Ali, a pioneering educationist and a leading voice in science advocacy in Bangladesh, passed away in the early hours of today at a city hospital. He was 87.
