Dhaka: Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Professor Dr. M Shamsher Ali. In a condolence message, the vice-chancellor highlighted the significant impact that Professor Ali had on the university and the broader academic community.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Professor Dr. M Shamsher Ali was not only a talented teacher and researcher at Dhaka University but also a prominent Islamic thinker and an internationally renowned nuclear scientist. His work and dedication to education and research have left a lasting legacy in the country.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed extended his prayers for eternal peace for the departed soul and conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family members. Professor Dr. M Shamsher Ali, who retired from the Department of Physics at Dhaka University, passed away at 3:00 am today while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the city. He was 87 years old.
