Mothers of July Martyrs to Remain a Source of Inspiration

Rangpur: Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal has emphasized the enduring significance of the sacrifices made by the mothers of the July-August martyrs, declaring their actions as a perpetual source of national motivation. “The great sacrifice of the mothers of the July martyrs is our source of inspiration. Their beloved children have written a new chapter in history by laying down their lives for the welfare of the country,” he stated.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, these remarks were made during a parents’ rally titled ‘Mothers of July’ and a screening of the film ‘Mothers of July’, held at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room in the city. The event formed part of the July Rejuvenation 2025 programme and was jointly organized by the district administration and the District Women’s Affairs Department. Attendees included mothers and family members of the martyrs and injured individuals from the July-August Uprising.



The rally, presided over by the Deputy Commissioner, featured addresses from Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramiz Alam and Deputy Director of Rangpur Women’s Affairs Department Selwara Begum. Several mothers of the July-August martyrs, such as Jahanara Begum, Shila Begum, Kaniz Fatema, Nasima Begum, Habiba Sultana, and Angura Begum, also shared their thoughts, along with July fighters Imran Ahmed, Nahid Hasan Khandaker, Hanif Khan Sajib, Ayan Ahsan, and Jamil Ahmed.



Earlier, Assistant Director of the District Information Office, Md Alamgir Kabir, presented a documentary on ‘Mothers of July’, initiated by the Rangpur District Information Office. In his address, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of honoring the martyrs and injured from the uprising and expressing gratitude to their families. He urged citizens to transform their collective grief into strength and to fulfill their duties with honesty and vigilance against all forms of evil, aiming to build a developed, prosperous, and discrimination-free Bangladesh as envisioned by the martyrs of the July-August Mass Uprising.



The event saw participation from government officials and people from various walks of life.
