Govt Publishes Gazette Recognizing 1,558 Injured July Fighters for 2024 Mass Uprising

Dhaka: The government has announced the publication of a gazette that acknowledges 1,558 additional wounded July fighters for their contributions and sacrifices during the 2024 Mass Uprising. These individuals have been recognized for their roles and the injuries they sustained during the pivotal events of that year.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, out of the total number of recognized fighters, 210 have been classified under the critically injured ‘B’ category, while the remaining individuals are listed under the ‘C’ category. The division-wise distribution of fighters in category ‘C’ includes 405 from Dhaka Division, 236 from Rajshahi, 166 from Khulna, 88 from Sylhet, 166 from Barisal, 111 from Mymensingh, and 226 from Chattogram Division.



The formal recognition was documented in two separate notifications issued on July 23 and 24 by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs. The notifications were signed by Deputy Secretary (Gazette) of the ministry, Haridas Thakur, marking an important step in honoring the sacrifices of these fighters.
