Panchagarh: The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) pushed at least nine individuals, including three children, into Bangladesh through different borders in the district last night. Among them, a woman and her three children were pushed through the Banglabandha border in Tentulia. Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on duty detained them inside Bangladeshi territory.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, at the same time, the BSF formally handed over a woman, who was detained from Shiliguri, to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). This transfer was confirmed by BGB-18 Commander Lieutenant Colonel Monirul Islam, who stated that a company commander-level meeting was held with the BSF, after which the woman was handed over.
In addition to this incident, five women were reportedly pushed into Bangladesh through borders along the Haribhasa area of Sadar upazila, as stated by Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdullah Hil Zaman. He mentioned that legal procedures are currently underway concerning these incidents.
Zaman further revealed that the BSF has pushed 157 individuals, including children, into Bangladesh through different borders of the district over the past three months.
