One Death and One New Covid-19 Case Reported in 24 Hours

Dhaka: The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today confirmed that one person died and one new case was reported in the country over a 24-hour period from 8 am Thursday to 8 am Friday.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 48 samples were tested during this time, resulting in a positivity rate of 2.08 percent. The DGHS statement detailed this latest data, emphasizing the ongoing presence of Covid-19 in the community.



The cumulative death toll from Covid-19 in the country has now reached 29,529 since the pandemic began in 2020. The virus was first detected in the country on March 8, 2020, and the first death occurred ten days later, marking the start of the country’s battle against the virus.
