Dhaka: Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury announced today that there is no security threat related to August 5. "There is no security problem over August 5. Everything is well with the blessing of Allah," he stated while addressing questions from journalists at the Home Ministry in Bangladesh Secretariat.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Home Adviser clarified that there is no ongoing countrywide drive related to August 5. Instead, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) is conducting a specific operation. When questioned about measures following the attack on Hindu people in Gangachara, Rangpur district, he assured that all individuals involved would face justice.
Addressing inquiries regarding a Malaysian police team's visit to Bangladesh, the Home Adviser mentioned that it was a courtesy call following the arrest of Bangladeshi nationals in Malaysia on allegations of militancy involvement. He added that discussions between the Malaysian team and Bangladesh Police might occur during the visit.
On the topic of visa issues, Lieutenant General Chowdhury explained that Bangladesh is issuing visas on arrival to countries with which it has relevant agreements.
