Dhaka: Another young life has been claimed by the Air Force fighter jet crash that occurred at Milestone School and College in Uttara. A 14-year-old child, Sahil Farabi Ayan, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS). The tragic incident continues to unfold, leaving families and communities in mourning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ayan passed away at 1:45 am today in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of NIBPS due to severe burn injuries. NIBPS Resident Surgeon Dr. Shawon Bin Rahman confirmed the death, noting that Ayan had suffered 40 percent burns. This recent death adds to the growing number of fatalities linked to the accident, bringing the total to 18 people at the Burn Institute.
The deceased child's parents, Mohammad Ali Masud and Tamanna Manjur, reside in the Madhya Manipur Mirpur area. As the community grieves, the broader impact of the July 21 jet crash becomes evident. The Health Ministry reports that 34 individuals have died as a result of the tragic event.
Currently, 33 survivors remain under medical care at NIPBS, with 27 of them being children. Among these, three individuals are in critical condition and receiving intensive care. The ongoing treatment efforts underscore the severity of the injuries sustained in the crash, as well as the urgent need for continued support and resources for the affected families and victims.
