Feni: One person was killed and eight others injured when a truck collided with a microbus at Lalpool, near Feni town on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway last night. The deceased was identified as Rajib Hossain Raju, 26, son of Abdur Razzaque, from Paschim Char Jabbar village under Char Jabbar Thana in Noakhali.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Chattogram-bound microbus, arriving from Cumilla, was struck around 9:30pm while moving onto the highway from the nearby Sandhani Filling Station. The impact of the collision caused the microbus to crumple and mount the highway divider.

Police and local residents promptly rescued the nine passengers and transported them to the 250-bed Feni General Hospital. Upon arrival, the duty doctor declared one person dead, as confirmed by Mahipal Highway Police Officer-in-Charge Harunur Rashid. Two critically injured passengers were later transferred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for further treatment. Police have successfully recovered both vehicles from the accident scene.
