Bagerhat: Two people lost their lives in a road accident in the Chanderhat area under Mollahat upazila of the district. The deceased were identified as Rajeshwar Baddhi, 65, a resident of Aga Kendua village, and Saiful Islam, 28, from Sakhipur village under Bamna Police Station in the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred around noon on the Dhaka-Khulna highway when a speeding motorcycle collided with a pedestrian who was crossing the road. Saiful, the motorcycle rider, and Rajeshwar, the pedestrian, were critically injured and succumbed to their injuries on the way to Mollahat Upazila Health Complex.
Officer-in-Charge of Mollahat Highway Police Station Sheikh Nuruzzaman confirmed the incident.
