Bhomra: Police arrested a Jubo League leader yesterday afternoon from Bhomra land port while he was attempting to flee to India. The arrestee was identified as Younus Ali Moral, president of Kapilmuni Union Unit of Jubo League under Paikgacha upazila in the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Officer-in-Charge of Paikgacha Police Station, Idrisur Rahman, confirmed the arrest. Several cases were filed against Younus, and he had been absconding for a long time.
Younus is known to be a close associate of the acting chairman of Kapilmuni union and former Member of Parliament Akhteruzzaman Babu. He is also a member of ward no-5 of the Union Parishad and went into hiding after the cases were filed against him.
