Dhaka: Primary schools across the country will hold programmes on July 31 to commemorate the July martyrs and those injured in the 2024 mass uprising. The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has announced that different events will be held on July 31 in all primary schools across the country, according to a letter signed by Mohammad Sakhawat Hossain Sarkar, Deputy Secretary of the Administration-2 Branch of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, earlier on July 22, the ministry postponed the July uprising programmes of the country’s primary schools due to the crash of a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet into Milestone School and College in Uttara. The government allocated Taka 2,500 to each primary school in the country to hold this event.
The statement further mentioned that the three-day ‘July Revival Programme 2025’ that was initially planned to be held from July 22 to 24 was postponed due to the loss of lives in the crash of an air force training aircraft at Milestone School and College in Uttara. The programme will now be held on July 31, it added.
