Dhaka: Academic classes at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) are set to resume on July 29, following a nearly five-month suspension.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor (VC), Professor Dr. Md. Maksud Helali, made the announcement today after conducting meetings with teachers and student representatives. Dr. Helali, who was appointed on July 24 and took office on Friday, urged students to return to their dormitories and residences by Tuesday.

KUET’s academic activities have been stalled since February 18 due to a clash between general students and outsiders, which resulted in multiple injuries. In response to the incident, the administration initially suspended classes and required students to vacate the dormitories.
